Features
- Cold Resistant
- The CU-2E18SBU-5 compressor can handle outdoor temperatures as low as -5 degrees Fahrenheit with consistent high performance. Panasonic uses the best cold-resistant components to prevent weather related issues.
- Inverter Technology
- Panasonic's inverter controls the power and makes operation extremely efficient by changing the power supply frequency. It is constantly adjusting the compressor rotation speed to provide the best performance at all times.
- Blue Fin Condenser
- Condensers are constantly exposed to wind, dust and salty air that take their toll on your unit. Panasonic coats their condensers with an anti-rust coating to extend its lifespan.
- ECONAVI
- ECONAVI Intelligent Sensors detect unconscious waste of energy using the Human Activity Sensor and Sunlight Sensor. It is able to monitor human location, movements, absence and sunlight intensity.
- Air Sweep Control
- This function controls the louvers up and down to direct the air in a sweeping motion, providing comfort in all parts of the room.
- Night Setback
- This function slows down the operating speed at night to provide an even quieter unit.
- Installation Flexibility
- Match virtually any building design with the long piping length this outdoor condenser has to offer. The CU-2E18SBU-5 can support 82 feet of line set per indoor unit and a total of 164 feet of line set per system.
- Power Failure Automatic Restart
- This unit will restart automatically after a power outage to avoid any potentional damage.
- Recommended line set sizes for indoor unit connectivity:
- CS-E9RKUAW: 1/4" x 3/8" Line Set (Qty 2)
- (1) Panasonic - 18k BTU - Outdoor Condenser - For 2 Zones (CU-2E18SBU-5)
- (2) Panasonic 9k BTU Wall Mounted Unit - For Multi or Single-Zone (CS-E9RKUAW)
- Line Set - This double insulated tubing transfers refrigerant efficiently between your outdoor condenser and indoor unit.
- Drain Tubing - Drain tubing facilitates the reliable and effective removal of condensate from your system. It connects your indoor unit to drain locations of your choosing.
- Disconnect Box & Electrical Whip Kit - The Disconnect Box & Whip Kit provides a safe and simple way to connect your outdoor condenser to your fuse box.
- Connecting Wire - This durable, insulated wire provides power to your indoor unit from your outdoor condenser.
- Base Pan Heater - The base pan heater prevents ice from building up on the outdoor unit. Excessive ice build will lead to performance issues and could damage your unit.
- Outdoor Condenser Plastic Pad or Wall Bracket - We recommend outdoor condensers should not be placed directly on the ground. An outdoor condenser pad or wall bracket will provide a stable way to mount your condenser free from obstructions and debris.
Panasonic has over 53 years of air conditioning experience and the RAC Multi E Series mini splits are a prime example. This is a dual zone mini split system designed to give you individual control over the temperature of multiple rooms. The P2H18W09090000 has inverter technology to adjust the compressor rotation speed to maximize efficiency. Paired up with multiple indoor units that have multiple operating modes, multiple fan speeds, and multiple airflow directions, this is a system that fits the needs of nearly any home.

Panasonic Heating and Cooling P2H18W09090000 Reviews & Ratings
Works well but price has gone up

I have had this Panasonic Dual Zone CU-2E18/CS-E12x2 for over 2 years now. I am pleased overall but would offer a few tips:
- My application is primarily for heating, and I am in a location where temps can dip below zero. The unit does a surprising job of heating down to 5 degrees F, but after that will drop off significantly, and eventually shut itself off around zero. As a result, you really want to have a backup source of heat in that climate. (I used cheap electric strip heaters)
- The lowest inside setting is 60 degrees. While this is generally OK, is good to know if you go away often or if this is for a vacation home, etc
- Location of the outdoor unit matters: Try to keep away from weather and dampness, and mount it so it has plenty of room to drain underneath. In cold weather it will freeze up around the base.
- These issues are no different than most other mini splits. Dual zone units generally have lower efficiency than single zone systems, so that is a trade off vs getting 2 single zone systems, and are limited to 5 degrees. The exception is a new multisplit unit from Mitsubishi, but cost is much higher.
- The Panasonic unit was a good value for the money, and has better warranty than the off brand units flooding the market. However, the price has gone up by several hundred dollars since I bought the same unit, while technology has moved on and improved. In my mind, the price should have gone down, not up. If I had to do it again today, I would purchase 2 9K single zone units which would provide higher performance and flexibility in terms of mounting locations, not to mention redundancy if the compressor were to fail.
