Features
- Efficiency-Boosting Insulation
- Heat retention is critical to energy efficiency. Heat leakage represents energy use without any comfort gains. An extended, insulated steel jacket prevents heat from escaping the CGa and improves the efficiency.
- Durable Construction
- Reliability is one of the greatest ways a boiler can provide value. Weil-McLain wanted to be sure that you'll enjoy the comfort the CGa provides for years to come. With a steel base and burners and cast-iron boiler sections, they have done just that.
Over the last 130 years, Weil-McLain has built a reputation of designing some of the most reliable boilers in the marketplace. Their dedication to producing lasting heating solutions is seen in every boiler they make. The CGa is a compact, natural draft boiler. The low profile makes this boiler perfect for space conscious applications with chimney access. Solid construction and a good efficiency rating make the CGa an excellent value. A vent damper, draft hood, and Taco circulator are included. These components, coupled with easily accessible controls, make it easy to install and set your CGa up. Whether you are replacing an older boiler or beginning new construction, the CGa is an efficient, compact heating solution.

Fuel Type
To create heat, some form of fuel is required. Fuel Type specifies what the product uses as an input to create heat.

Combustion Type
Combustion Type
Condensing appliances use leftover thermal energy from combustion gases to heat water in a secondary heat exchanger, resulting in higher efficiency and lower exhaust temperature.
Conventional
Vent Type
Vent Type
Products that use combustion (burning) of fuel to create heat also create potentially dangerous gasses that need to be exhausted (AKA "Vented"). Depending on the product, venting can be done via a chimney, through a side wall, or use a second vent to provide fresh air to the appliance.

Ultra Low NOx Emissions
NOx is a byproduct of the combustion process, and it's output is regulated in some jurisdictions. Many regulators mirror SCAQMD rules, which regulate air quality for some parts of Southern California. Ultra Low NOx appliances emit less than 10-14 ng/J (nanogram per Joule) of NOx. Learn More

Review Posted 10/07/2016
There's a reason Weil-McLain has such a strong reputation in the boiler business - they continue to build high quality products year after year. The CGa Gold Series boiler has all of the standard features you expect from a premium cast iron boiler - insulated steel jacket, cast iron sections with built-in air separator, stainless steel burners, automatic vent damper, high-limit temperature control with reset, ASME pressure relief valve, spill switch, and a combination temperature & pressure gauge. It also ships with a Taco 007 circulator.

The only problem we had was finding a plumber who would install it since we bought it. They all wanted to sell us a boiler they use. We saved a lot of cost by buying it ourselves, we highly recommend this boiler.

Delivers the heat
By Thomas P
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Purchased 06/28/2018 |
Review Posted 01/08/2019
The Weil-McLain CGa 59 BTU rating looked to be the unit. Had it installed over the summer and it has performed well.
Though not "pretty" it delivers and maintains the constant temperature called for. Remarkable, considering only one zone with one thermostat on the 1st floor. No heat surges or cold areas. The pump continues to circulate heat to radiators even after the firing of the boiler has ceased.
