Features

The prioAir8EC inline duct fan pairs a revolutionary impeller design with a high efficiency EC motor to deliver high air flow with low power consumption. You can save even more by using the included speed control to exactly match your air flow requirements, or use an external 0-10Vdc l to adjust the fan speed on demand. combining these features with a speed output that can be used to monitor fan operation, means the prioAir8EC is the perfect fan for any smart home or office.
  • Advanced impeller design
  • The aerodynamically optimized impeller in the prioAir8EC provides powerful quiet airflow with excellent efficiency.
  • Air tight casing
  • The prioAir8EC features an air tight composite casing that ensures your air goes where you want it to go. The casing is also light weight and corrosion proof to provide excellent installation flexibility.
  • BMS Ready
  • The prioAir8EC is controllable via a 0-10 Vdc signal and sends a 10V speed output to make integration with a building management system a breeze.
  • High Efficency Motor
  • The prioAir8EC features a high efficiency EC motor that both reduces energy consumption and also provides 100% speed control.

Excellent fan Especially if you know what EC means

I use about 25 of these fans in three buildings and some of them run 24x7 for months on end. They are easy to control with 0-10 V dimmers and the fan puts out 10V for the control voltage. If you really want 800 CFM you will need to tolerate some noise or add a silencer. I use mine usually for about 300-500 CFM. And I have two silencers to run fans at the full 800 CFM quietly. If you are not an electrician and do not know what EC means or understand 0-10 Control Voltage your are not alone. With an EC motor the fan CFM is digitally controlled and understands that a DC control Voltage between 0 and 10V will tell the fan what speed to go. You can supply that voltage 3 ways. 1) The fan comes with a preinstalled Potentiometer that will adjust the voltage and fan speed for you, but it will be difficult to access and change in the future. 2) If you remove that Potentiometer, you can wire the fan to a 0-10 dimmer switch for remote speed control. 0-10v controls use purple and grey wire, so an easy hint for this is purple to grey. Think of the 10V going to the dimmer on the purple and returning to the fan on the grey. This is how most work best. 3) If you are handy and have a separate 10v source and know how to wire your own potentiometer then that works fine too. Do not forget that the fan should have a power shut off switch, so do not just activate it with the dimmer. Turn it on and off with AC 120V power. Most 0-10v (DC) dimmers have a power switch for the AC 120v Power and the dimming control for 10V DC control voltage. Do not try a conventional dimmer that controls the AC 120 voltage. That will not work, do not do it. The fan needs 120v and about 2amps of constant AC power. As an aside I have found that not many people use enjoy and understand the beauty and simplicity of 0-10v control. Sales people and even the engineers at Fantech seem to think that only one brand of controller will work. Not true. This fan speaks the language of DC voltages from 0-10 volts and there is not difference in the world between one controllers voltage and another, so you do not need to buy a Fantech controller or any other recommended brand. To illustrate this you could control with a battery as well. A 9v battery give the same speed as 9v from any controller. Please ask an electrician if you do not understand how to wiring and electronics. Good luck I love these fans.
