The ecobee smart Wi-Fi thermostat just got even smarter. The new ecobee4 is equipped with Amazon Alexa Voice Service built-in. Not only does it control your home comfort levels, it is now a fully functioning voice assistant that can take notes, answer questions, or even order groceries. The ecobee4 comes with a room sensor that detects occupancy and ensures the occupied rooms are heated or cooled to the desired temperature. It will control not only your furnace and air conditioner, but your humidifier, dehumidifier, or ventilator as well. The ecobee4 is designed to be seen and heard with embedded microphones that have far-field voice recognition and a slim modern profile that looks at home on anyone's wall.

Since installing new A/C units & these ecobee thermostats, my daily energy use (as per the FPL app)has dropped by almost 3.00, which works out to approximately 90 dollars a month. I've only had them for one billing cycle & I am already saving money.

I was blown away by how easy the ecobee4 was to install and by all of the built-in features. I chose this over the Nest, Lyric, etc because I live in a tri-level home and the first level is always freezing while the upstairs always running hot. I have forced-air HVAC, so zoning isn't practical like you could do with a mini-split system.
I bought extra sensors and love the fact that I'm not wasting energy by overheating/cooling parts of the house I don't use. The "Follow Me" feature senses where you are and adjusts based on the average temps from the rooms where motion was recently detected. Very cool!
I used to wake up hot in the middle of the night not anymore! With the "Sleep" mode and a sensor placed in the bedroom, I'm perfectly comfortable all night and saving tons of energy in the process.
Some things to know that isn't explained well is that the "Smart Home/Away" function takes up to an hour to fully kick-in. So, if your home from work at a time the thermostat is set to "Away" it will take an hour for it to switch over to "Home", but it's super easy just to tell it your home from the device, your phone, and even telling Alexa to let ecobee know your home.
Overall, I love this thermostat. It's really a well thought-out device that has way more functions and features than any other smart thermostat on the market today. Integrating Alexa is also great. (ex. I forgot to pick up something when I came home from the store and asked Alexa to put it into my Amazon cart, super convenient!)
One of the most important things you should know that ecobee does better than the rest is the fact it will run more HVAC equipment with better functionality. 2-Stage Furnaces, Variable-speed blower motors, De/Humidifiers, etc. The list goes on, but if you spent money to get a nice HVAC system, you should at least get a thermostat that will be able to utilize every function and feature of which it's capable.
The app is awesome and I love the ability to see what the system is doing at a moment's notice from anywhere. If you're replacing a manual thermostat be prepared to be blown away!

The thermostat itself is great, the only issue we have is the Alexa likes to turn on randomly and doesn't always turn off when we say Alexa off.

I’ve been looking at these for a while. And one day I was casually browsing the internet and I found the ecobee four for sale here. The deal was amazing so I bought it right away. Shipping was fast, everything came as expected! First time installing one of these. Make sure you understand the wiring or you can mess up something!

We put a new thermostat in about 4 years ago and it was touted as being programmable, not! No matter what we did, it always stayed at the same temperature and the only way to change it was to physically stand in front of it to raise or lower the temperature. My son in law told us about the Ecobee. We have only had it installed for almost two weeks now, but I have loved how well it works. I would definitely purchase this product again, and I love the sensor. It helps keep the temperature in our bedroom at night down, which is a room that really heats up when the door is closed because of the size of the vent.
