Rinnai has been delivering nothing but the best for almost 100 years and that award-winning dedication can't help but be noticed in its Ultra Series. The RUC80iN and all of the Ultra Series Models offer Rinnai's incredibly efficient condensing design line of tankless heaters. Rinnai's Ultra Series Models utilize two premium heat exchangers to provide optimal reliability and durability. With a 0.96 Energy Factor and a sleek, innovative design, the RU98eP is the ultimate option, and is easily maintained thanks to included isolation valves.

    Product Features

    Compact design saves space.
What Rinnai has done to consolidate and concentrate its tankless units into barely the size of a suitcase is really remarkable. The RUC80iN is designed to be able to be installed on any wall or in any compact space, including non-traditional places like an attic or crawlspace that hides your unit and frees up valuable space in your home. With flexible venting options allowing for direct, concentric or twin pipe installations, Rinnai tankless water heaters are perfect for any home, including manufactured and modular homes.

Energy-efficient promise that saves you money.
Rinnai has almost a century of experience producing some of the most efficient, and highest quality, water heaters, and the RUC80iN is no exception, using up to 40% less energy than traditional tank heaters. Tankless water heaters avoid the need to keep a large amount of reserve water heated at all times. This saves precious natural resources by only heating water when you need it, as you need it, while an entirely electric ignition avoids the constantly wasted energy of a standing pilot light.

    Continuous Water for Multiple Applications
You may not know it, but you're probably scheduling your life around your hot water supply. Stop waiting to turn on the dishwasher or flush the toilet, take control of your hot water supply. You should be able to have two people shower at once or do the laundry while the dishwasher is running. Rinnai tankless water heaters provide an endless supply of hot water that remains uninterrupted, even when you're the last one in line for the shower.

How much demand can a Rinnai tankless water heater handle? Can you use the shower and dishwasher at the same time?

Answer
Sizing a tankless water heater involves a few easy steps. You can use the map on our Tankless Water Heater Buying Guide to determine your incoming water temperature (it's really easy). Based on that, you'd determine the flow rate you'll get from any tankless water heater in the specifications PDF.

For example, in Chicago we have 47 degree ground water, meaning I would want a 73 degree temperature rise. The Rinnai RUR98IP (spec sheet) will produce about 5.5 GPM at that temperature rise - more than enough to run a standard shower head and a dishwasher at the same time. Standard fixture GPM requirements can be found in the tankless water heater buying guide linked above.

Thanks for your question!
