The QuietCool Solar Attic Gable fan uses the power of sunlight to power its motor to help prevent any heat or moisture build-up in your attic. Because an attic's air is typically the hottest in the house, this Solar Attic Gable Fan will help reduce the strain put on your air conditioner and help save on energy costs. An included AC/DC inverter allows the Solar Attic Fan to transition from solar power to electric power as soon as the sun goes down. A built-in preset thermostat will activate the fan at temperatures above 83° F and turn off once it reaches 72° F. The included solar panel features polycrystalline material that provides up to 2-4 times the output of the industry standard.

2nd QC purchase after installing an ES-6000. Bought this gable fan for a 4-car garage to replace a cheap Costco product that only lasted three years. Works very well, as expected. Installation was simple as it replaced a fan of the same diameter. I wired it to a dedicated outlet controlled by a digital timer which allows it to run for a desired amount of time after sunset. Completely happy with the product and installation choices.

I am using this alongside another brand so I am able to compare apples to apples.
The power derived from the little solar panel is stunning. The quietness is also amazing. I only wish the 75 degree F thermostat were switchable or optional and I will need to override/re-wire mine for greenhouse vent use. (This would also apply to venting a place like crawlspace/shed/garage for humidity/vapor, or trying to draw in cooler air yet) .
This is top of the line, and you get what you pay for. Off grid or where electricity isn't cheap, this one is the best/only solution.

just installed the unit and only time will tell its worthiness in reducing attic heat and how much it helps in reducing A/C work time. It is remarkably quiet and it started working even without direct sunlight to the panel. The quality of the product is excellent and hope for extended reliability.

Fantastic, Energy Saving, Upgrade

Replaced on old, inefficient, and very noisy, gable exhaust fan with this beautiful product. Installation was a breeze (Ha!). I opted to use the inverter, so the fan can run after the sun goes down. To get the attic space down to 75ºF on a typical hot summer day (mid 80's - 90's outside) it runs until about 10 PM. Plan to install an Eve smart plug, so I can monitor energy usage, and turn if off at night if the noise is disturbing. Although it is much, much, quieter than the old fan, we can still hear it in the house. But, it's a buzz, not a rumble, so big improvement.

Easy to install. Worked just like advertised. So quiet, you can't hear it run inside. Love that you have option to hook up to power but we're running off of free sunshine! Turns on early, will run till sundown if needed.

So far, this equipment has been great! It was easy to install. The plug-n-play feature is definitely a plus. The solar panel must be in direct sun to work (implied), when it is, the equipment works great!

After I got it I realize that there wasn't no louvers that come with it so I had to order a set of louvers. I finally got around to putting it in and after I got it all set up I plug just a solar in and it started working right away. Finish putting me 110 hookup it's worked great. It's been in for a couple of days and my shop is an insulated that much but it does pull it down about 20 degrees love it. I'm going to finish the summer and see if I really love this product and if I do I'm going to buy another one to put in my house.
