Quiet & Works Quite Well

I received the unit in April and finally finished the install a few weeks ago. I poured a 4ft x 4ft concrete pad for the compressor but honestly the compressor is so quiet (I think that my cat makes more noise when she is sleeping) and vibration free that the pad was totally "overkill". The 2 indoor units are also equally as quiet.
With regard to the install. I did the complete install myself including the required 30 amp outdoor disconnect, copper liquid and gas lines, as well as evacuating and then charging the system with additional R410A.
The electrical was easy, the plumbing a bit harder, and the system setup (charging with R410A) tougher still.
The system comes pre-charged with enough R410A for the first 25ft of liquid and gas copper pipe. My 2 indoor units required 65 ft (which was the max allowable length) so I needed to add about 1 lb of refrigerant.
For the additional piping I used pre-insulated line set 1/4 and 3/8 (available on Amazon and other places) which saved me from having to insulate the exposed copper by hand. A good flaring tool is essential to making connections that will hold pressure.
The hard part was pulling a vacuum, breaking the vacuum with nitrogen, then pulling a vacuum again, adding extra R410A, releasing the factory loaded refrigerant, then testing the system. You will need a vacuum pump, gauges, a scale to weigh the added R410A, and a ton of patience. There are quite a few videos on YouTube showing how to perform these tasks and you will need to spend some time being educated. Or you could just call an HVAC guy to charge the system for you but this might cost you a few benjamins.
To hide the copper lines on the outside of the house I used a 2in x 3in white plastic raceway product from Electriduct. These were less expensive and look nicer than what was available on Amazon.
How well does the system work? I have 2 9000 BTU units on opposite corners of a 1500 ft2 home. The house is cool dry and comfortable. There is absolutely zero noise from any of the components. The system includes a dehumidifier mode which is handy when the humidity is high but the outside temp doesn't demand full air conditioning.
Yes the system is that good.
