Kohler has been known for quality in their small engines, and other products. I liked the service entrance transfer switch with load shedding capability. Having the built in features like load shedding especially with 2 HVAC units really helps out. It has really come in handy for the convenience during power outages, and having a great peace of mind. It is also quiet for operation that is close to the house.

The Kohler Pkg. Is robust and very high quality. The ATS enclosure gives you plenty of room to fit the large conductors.

When we decide to get a more capable emergency power system I first checked in my local area which is Portland Oregon to Seattle Washington. That was late September 2021 and everywhere I called I got the same response “no equipment available until spring 2022 at the soonest”.When I saw that Generators Direct had the 20Kw Kohler set with a ATS in stock I just figured their website wasn’t current/updated.

So I called & talked with Mike a sales rep and he said it was no mistake, They placed orders months ahead anticipating sales and maintain close relations with manufacturers so they had stock when no one else did.
Not only did they have the exact unit in stock but the price was as good as I could find anywhere and the price of shipping included.

All my needs were exceeded. I was able to arrange a dock pickup at the shipping depot in Portland Oregon & they loaded it right into my little 85 Toyota pickup truck. Not wanting to hesitate and miss out Mike took my payment card and personal information immediately over the phone and within seconds I had my purchase information emailed to me.Only two days later I received confirmation my unit had shipped and only a week later it had arrived in Portland from the upper midwest.

I’m 61 yrs old and my cousin (same age) and I were able to slide the generator down a couple 2x6 board right onto the concrete pad I’d poured a few days earlier with no lifting involved.

I had a 120gal propane tank delivered from my local provider as there’s no natural gas service on the Washington coast. My local hardware store had everything I needed for the connection, it couldn’t have been easier.

A group 51R battery from Costco fit perfectly even though the instructions call for a group 51 (the posts are reversed)
I did all the wiring for our house, shop and pump house but that was years ago, in the summer and we weren’t living there so no rush but in the interest of time savings I’m hiring a licensed electrician to wire it up.

I honestly couldn’t be more pleased with the entire experience with Electric Generators Direct and have already referred my Doctor who was looking to them. My advice is to trust what it says on their website and order the equipment you need from them and relax knowing that your dealing with a reputable company.
