Features

Barring a major remodeling project, purchasing heating and cooling equipment is the largest investment you will make in your home. While manufacturers offer excellent warranties that cover a wide variety of circumstances, one conspicuous absence is common: power surge coverage. A catastrophic electrical event can leave you scrambling to replace your furnace, boiler, or mini split system out of pocket, even if it's only a few years old. That's where ICM Controls' ICM517 comes in. The ICM517 is a UL1449 3rd Edition-certified HVAC surge protection device. It provides your heating and cooling equipment with both exceptional protection and additional warranty coverage. Don't remain at the mercy of Mother Nature and your electrical company, install an ICM517 HVAC surge protection device on your equipment and enjoy unparalleled peace of mind.
  • Powerful Protection
  • When installed in a line-to-neutal/ground application, the ICM517 has a maximum continuous operating voltage of 150V and a voltage protection rating of 600V. If you're putting it in a line-to-line application, those numbers jump to to 300V and 900V.
  • Comprehensive Coverage
  • Many connected equipment warranties only cover electro-mechanical components like motors and switches. The ICM517 provides three years and $7,500 of warranty coverage to every electrical component in your equipment.
  • Durable Enclosure
  • A watertight, UV-resistant type 4X NEMA enclosure protects the ICM517 from inclement weather, ice damage, dust, and other debris. Whether you're installing it inside or outdoors, this surge protector is tough enough to handle almost any conditions.
  • Quick Install
  • The ICM517 attaches quickly and easily to the electrical disconnect of your equipment. The installation process only takes about ten minutes for a qualified and licensed professional.
  • Product Compatible With
  • Ductless Mini Split Systems
  • High-Efficiency Furnaces
  • Hydronic Heating Systems
  • Electrical Equipment with a Disconnect

Product Questions Answered by Ken, the eComfort Product Expert
I want surge protection for a 120 volt small mini split heat pump. Will an ICM517 work on a 120-volt disconnect? Say I attach both black leads to one load terminal and the white lead to the other load terminal? Will that work, or do I need a different surge protector?
