    Secondary Heat Exchanger

    Auto-Comfort
    Goodman's Auto-Comfort mode is available in applications where the GMVC961005CN is used to distribute cooled air. This mode scales output up to the cooling demand in stages for improved comfort, efficiency, and dehumidification.

I am in the process of installing a new Goodman heating & cooling system that is ComfortNet compatible. I am considering the CTK04 Thermostat, but I don't if I should spend almost $600 on this thermostat versus a non-ComfortNet thermostat at less than half the cost.

Using a Goodman ComfortNet compatible thermostat with ComfortNet compatible equipment offers several benefits that will not be available with any other thermostat. During installation, the ComfortNet compatible components will communicate with each other, and each will select the appropriate settings that will allow it to work best with the other components in the system. This means that set-up time should be significantly reduced, and there is no risk of making a programming mistake that could cause the system to operate less efficiently. Once the system is up and running, the ability of the thermostat to truly communicate with your furnace and air conditioner will allow you to take full advantage of the features in those components. This constant feedback will allow the furnace to better select the correct firing rate and blower speed than is possible without information from the thermostat. The air conditioner is also better able to select the correct stage with this feedback. Finally, should you ever have any issues with your equipment, the ComfortNet enabled thermostat will report any error conditions in clear English to help expedite the troubleshooting and repair process.
