Goodman established itself as the largest HVAC manufacturer in the US by producing high-quality, efficient equipment and providing it to homeowners at a great value. The GMVC8 two-stage furnace utilizes Goodman's superior heat exchanger design to provide efficient, reliable heating to your home. It is equipped with an advanced variable-speed blower motor, which scales circulation to the specific demands of your application in real-time. The GMVC80604BN was designed with multiple options for the unit's orientation, ensuring a painless and quick installation. It even features a self-diagnosing control board that makes maintenance a breeze. If you're looking for consistent comfort and incredible efficiency from a two-stage furnace, it's tough to beat Goodman's GMVC8.
  • Advanced Heat Exchanger Design
  • The GMVC8 furnace employs a reliable dual-diameter tubular heat exchanger design. Aluminized steel is used for incredibly efficient heat transfer, and a wrinkle-bend is applied to the tubes to enhance the heat exchanger's dependability and longevity.
  • Dual$aver Technology
  • Dual$aver Technology allows GMVC8 furnaces to begin operating at the lower stage for ideal efficiency. The control board uses historical data about the rate of temperature change in your home to decide whether the higher stage of heating is necessary.
  • Quiet Comfort
  • The blower and motor of the GMVC80604BN were selected for their incredibly low sound levels.
  • Secure Cabinet
  • All GMVC8 furnaces are protected by a durable steel cabinet with an insulated heat exchanger section to prevent heat loss.
  • ComfortNet Compatible
  • This furnace is compatible with Goodman's ComfortNet communicating controls. A ComfortNet control streamlines the installation and maintenance processes further by automatically detecting your equipment and providing diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Auto-Comfort
  • Goodman's Auto-Comfort mode is available in applications where the GMVC80604BN is used to distribute cooled air. This mode scales output up to the cooling demand in stages for improved comfort, efficiency, and dehumidification.
  • Easy Integration
  • The GMVC80604BN makes it simple to enhance your system with a humidifier and an electronic air cleaner; just wire them directly to the low-voltage terminals on the control board.
  • Extended Warranty
  • Goodman offers a 10-year limited parts warranty when you register your product online within 60 days of installation. An unregistered product has the standard 5-year warranty. See warranty sheet under the "Manuals" tab for more information.

Fuel Type To create heat, some form of fuel is required. Fuel Type specifies what the product uses as an input to create heat.
Natural Gas
Vent Type Products that use combustion (burning) of fuel to create heat also create potentially dangerous gasses that need to be exhausted (AKA "Vented"). Depending on the product, venting can be done via a chimney, through a side wall, or use a second vent to provide fresh air to the appliance.
Chimney Vent
Modulating/Staging Stages are unique speeds or levels that equipment can operate at. More stages allow for better fine-tuned control of output, which improves comfort and efficiency. Modulating equipment can operate across a range of levels, giving the highest level of fine-tuned control. Learn More
Two Stage
Blower Type Blower type describes the motor that powers the fan in the unit. PSC multi-speed is the standard motor that operates with pre-set fan speed levels. ECM multi-speed are more efficient but still operate with pre-set fan speeds. Finally, ECM variable-speed motors are also energy efficient and automatically adjust to changing system conditions.
ECM Variable-Speed
Orientation Orientation describes the direction that air will flow through a piece of equipment. (e.g. air will flow horizontally through a "Horizontal" unit heater.) Most equipment will only function properly if installed in the proper orientation.

Can this unit be used in California?

Answer
Goodman makes special Low NOx models for use in California and other areas that limit nitrous oxide emissions. These models can be easily found and identified because that have an 'X' instead of an 'N' at the end of the model number. All of the high-efficiency models (AFUE >= 90%), are compliant with these emissions regulations.
