Bought this and finally had it installed in January. It is a real quality unit looks wonderful and now that i have had it for 8 months I can say that it works perfectly. Have lost power now 3 times and the last time it was out for over 26 hours and the unit worked perfectly in face I did not even know the power came back on till my wife told me the generator was off. Fast start and flawless power transfer love this unit

Recommended by my electrician when we were looking for a whole house generator. Prices were the best I found online. Equipment was shipped IMMEDIATELY and delivered within a few days of ordering - much faster than I anticipated! Would definitely do business with them again.

After 12 years, my Generac 13 kW generator died.
We HAD to replace it after all the benefits we enjoyed over the past years. We were the only house on in the area with the generator so we were able to help neighbors and live comfortably with the inevitable power outages during storms, ice and sometime for no apparent reason.
Replacement was as breeze since we had one installed before. One item that was different was that there were a inferential number of control wires with the current design than we had in the old generator. The installer figured it out in just a few minutes and all is working great.
The other great feature this unit has is that we are able to monitor it by looking at a LED light on the exterior of the unit and also using our cell phone.
Generators Direct was a great help all along and Generac had told us that they were reputable and were the best price.

Seems Like A Decent Upgrade From My 2010 Generac!

Haven't had a chance to rely on this unit yet, but it will come. Had a 17kw (LP) Generac that was 9 years old and becoming more $$$ to fix it than it was worth.
Unit seems well built- wish they would make the starter and rear plug easier to get to, but oh well. The new controller software (Evolution 2.0) is decent. Not sure why my generator has firmware but the update notices I receive via the WiFi (built in!) are nice, and the speed of updates over Wifi is way better than my old cellular setup. Eventually I want to add cellular to this system, as when the power is out the wireless is out and I won't see the status on my generator if it doesn't start. I like the direction they are going here.
The unit has a quiet mode that is WAY quiet for weekly tests (now adjustable to bi-weekly, monthly as well), but almost sounds like its stalling out. I changed it to just run the test at full throttle in the software and it is much better now. All is well as the 13KW is WAY quieter overall then the older 17kw I had.
Finally- such a nice move on this unit and the new 16KW unit- hydraulic lifters. Thank the maker for this upgrade! Stops the every other year $750 service (at least in my horrific market) to have the valves adjusted by a dealer. That alone pays for the unit over a reasonable ownership period- nice job Generac!
