Spotty At Best

We've had an 11kw Generac for about four years now, and the performance is spotty at best. Many times it does not come on when the power goes out. Calling Generac is not much help. They are more committed to their exclusive, and expensive, repair techs than they are to their customers. After all, they already have my money. Most of my attempts to get it to run when it doesn't start automatically are less than 50%. Most of their techs want at least $200 just to come out and take a look - parts and repairs can go way beyond that. If owning a car was like this I'd probably drive it off a cliff. If your are considering this as a purchase - better shop around.

If you're beyond your warranty period, you may want to contact an electrician in your area to determine the cause of the problem and then find out how much it would be to repair the generator/swtich.

Customer loves it, two days after install power went out it was 12 degrees out and bingo generator came on and so did everything else ran for 18 hrs non-stop and not a problem. Great unit.

This unit was shipped with parts not connected and a faulty carburetor. After I hooked up the loose parts I contacted Generac. They did pay for a service tech to come out and replace the bad carburetor. It now starts and runs smoothly. Let's hope that will run for years to come.

I've purchased several of these Generac Generators for my clients in Massachusetts. They are used frequently during our winter snow storms, numerous fall storms/hurricanes and lots of power outages in general. These generators automatically come on weekly and when required. My clients have yearly maintenance done through me on them so they'll last longer and if a part needs to be replaced Generac will supply it under the 5 or 10 year warranty that is on this product. My clients are very happy with there Generac generators.

I live in Kansas but have a lake home in Arkansas. The wi-fi makes it possible for me to be aware long distance. I am delighted with it, however we have not had a power outage to date but know its ready to run.

Very excited to have a Generac! We have a horse farm--house, stable areas, attached sheds, etc, and are very dependent upon electricity. The thought of having an automatic generator to come on when we have a power outage is so reassuring! Have not had the opportunity (fortunately) to have to rely upon the Generac, but am confident it will get the job done! One less thing to worry about! No more hooking up a portable generator and getting up in the night to fill up the tank!
