The Flanders Pre Pleat 40 LPD Series 80255.021520 High Capacity Pleated Filter is designed from recyclable materials to create an efficient and moisture-resistant filter to be used in a variety of applications including heating, air conditioning, and ventilation. These 15" x 20'' x 2" pleated filters are constructed with a MERV 8 rated synthetic media. The Pre Pleat 40 LPD filter is suitable for variable air systems from 0 to 500 FPM. It is designed with a low pressure drop and a high dust holding capacity to lengthen service life. The filters are UL 900 listed for flame resistance. Due to their pleated design, these filters will not collapse, warp, or bend in normal service. Pre Pleat 40 filters can be installed in PF-1 Holding Frames, K-Trac Framing Modules, Surepleat Side Access Housings, and similar hardware. They may be used as pre-filters for Precision Pak, Super Flow V, PrecisionCell, and Rigid Air filters.
Pleated Shape
With a pleated shape, filters resist collapsing, warping, or bending in normal service.
High Dust Holding Capacity
A high dust holding capacity extends the service life of your filter by allowing it to retain high quantities of dust before replacement.
Low Pressure Drop
As air travels through the media, the loss of air pressure is limited.
95-98% Arrestance
The filter removes 95-98% of synthetic dust from the airstream.
30-40% Efficiency
The filter removes 30-40% of particulate matter and gaseous material from the airstream.

Product QuestionsAnswered by Bob, the eComfort Product Expert
Can a Pre Pleat 40 be cleaned by reverse flowing with water? How often do you recommend we change filters given that we live in Southern California?

Answer
I would not recommend cleaning the filter with water. You can attempt to vacuum it periodically, but the primary method of ensuring proper filter operation is regular replacement. Replacement frequency depends on use and contaminant levels is the space. I would suggest replacing the filters every 3 months at minimum, and more frequently if the system circulates air continuously.
