We researched mini split units for a year before finding the right combination of value, reliability, features and price. This Daikin hit the mark for our Southern California home. We had about 6 installers provide quotes on similar units with installation and I could tell they were padding the costs significantly. The manufacturers warranty is the same so keep looking for a quality installer who will give you a fair price on installation. Look for NATE certified installers. eComfort has great tools so you can size your unit appropriately and can assist with the linesets, covers, etc. Free shipping included and the delivery guy rolled it right into my garage and helped me check each piece before hauling off the packaging and pallet. It's so quiet we have to look for the green light to see if it is on. Love it.

Looking just at the features, this is one heck of a system! In comparing prices other other similarly-sized systems, this is an excellent deal... in fact, it was, by far, the BEST deal. We have just finished up the construction of our new home and this three-zone system is working wonderfully - one for the living room, one for our bedroom, and one for the downstairs workshop. Although we have not yet used the cooling mode (other than for an initial testing), the heat mode quietly and quickly brings the spaces up to the set temperature. The dehumidification feature is beneficial for us as we like to use our free-vent propane firelogs in the evening and since the combustion of propane adds moisture to the air, this option removes most of that excess vapor.
I would like to do a long-term report on this later (if possible) to report on things such as power consumption and performance regarding cooling - our Alabama summers are dreadfully hot and humid!
