Q: This is listed as an after filter. Can it be used as a prefilter on my GMU2025A Media Air Cleaner?

A: The carbon activated filter is intended to deodorize by breaking down volatile organic compounds in the air. It is not intended to remove particulate matter from the air and should not be used as a pre-filter.

Excellent As Alternative Part

I was happily surprised to find this product at a reasonable cost. I own a Nordyne electronic air cleaner and the optional carbon filters really clean the air in our home. However, Nordyne products are a special order item and there are additional fees attached. Goodman has the same product and are easier to purchase as I did from eComfort.
