We have used a Bosch tankless water heater for 22 years when it finally had to be replaced. We chose this brand and model because of its features, capacity, and ease of installation. We are very pleased with our purchase as it doubled the hot water flow rate of our previous model. The installation was easy and painless. The heater exceeds our expectations.

I purchased this unit to replace a similar model I have had for years. It has been a good, reliable unit. I also installed one in another house I had, and have a smaller Bosch gas unit as a point of use unit in this house. They have all been very reliable.

We had a Bosch on demand hot water heater that we bought 8 years ago. It went out so we bought this one to replace it. It has all the same features. One recommendation is to clean out the hot water pipes at least once a year. Our old one was gunked up and I think that is what made it quit working

Impressed With The Unit - Bosch 1050 ES.
By Michael H.

This unit is solid, as expected from Bosch. My gas line initially was undersized from a previous gas tank powervent unit. Install was reasonable, but took some effort and some plumbing expertise, about 8 hours all told, removing the old unit. Instructions seemed fine. Had initial error messages, but found a mounting screw missing the right fan unit, once replaced and all fasteners checked for tightening, has worked flawlessly since. I have been running the unit with about 70K BTU for 10 days, works fine for showers etc..., line being increased to 209K BTU in the next day or so, then will enjoy its full capacity. I would do this unit again. Rated quality at good due to missing and loose fasteners. Very easy startup, once installed.

Easy To Install & Easier To Operate

This unit was installed as a replacement for a 12 year old, non-condensing Bosch Aquastar 250SX. The difference is amazing. This unit fit exactly where the old unit did but it is much quieter and heats faster. I can hardly tell that it is on whereas the old unit made quite a bit of noise.
I like the small meter on the display that indicates how much of the unit's capacity is being used when it's running and the small icon that indicates the burner is operating. The venting was a breeze compared to the old unit and much less expensive.
This unit is well worth the money and is actually less expensive in the long run since the venting is far cheaper than a non-condensing unit and it is 95% efficient (compared to my old unit @ 84%).

When the item arrived via FedEx, the delivery man brought it to the house upside down. Apparently during the shipping and handling, the bottom of the box let loose and the item fell out. A weak attempt was made to repackage and tape the bottom, but they didn't get everything back in order and the packaging protruded from the bottom of the box and the bottom flaps did not completely close, therefore it was turned upside down and shipped in the bottoms up position.
I wasn't sure what my options were at that point (refuse delivery?) and I should have taken pictures. I took the water heater out, inspected it, did not see any physical damage, repackaged it so it fit completely in the box, taped the end so that I could carry it downstairs to the basement.
Once in the basement, I again unpacked it and checked the packing list. All items were accounted for. Now during the installation, I have discovered the hot water threaded nipple on the bottom of the unit has a noticeable amount of wiggle. I wonder if it got damaged when the item came out of the packaging during shipping. I plan on doing a pressure test before installing gas and water lines.
I do not believe FedEx would have taken the boxed item in the condition I received it, therefore EComfort I would say is not to blame. If the item is damaged, I expect EComfort/FedEx to make it right. At this point I like EComfort and would recommend them to a friend.
