Hi. This is Chris Zitko, Product Expert with eComfort. Today, I'm going to talk to you about accessories for PTAC units.
A lot of times, people give us a call, and they say "What's all needed with these units?"
Well, what I'm going to do here really quick is I'm just going to grab this LG unit that's right in front of me. First thing I always like to tell everybody is make sure you double-check your voltage.
What's the voltage that you currently have if you're replacing a unit, and/or what's the voltage that you can get to your unit? With that in mind, if you only have 115 volts or 110 volts, this is not going to be the unit for you. These units are normally seen at hotels, condos, places as such.
The biggest question that I've been getting is accessories, what do I need to install this unit? First of all, you're going to need the wall sleeve. This is what you're going to slide the unit into.
Then after that, the other main component that you absolutely have to have is some sort of a grill for the back of the unit. This helps dissipate hot and cold, depending on what time of the year you're using the unit in. We do have some fancy-looking grills that look very nice from the exterior. Otherwise, if you're just doing a hotel or something like that, and you just want a quick swap, these are the standard aluminum grills for 32 bucks.
Some other places do require a condensate drain kit. Double-check with your building code, and also double-check with your homeowners' association. Sometimes this is required.
Outside of that, we have a replacement filters.
The unit does has a thermostat on it, but if you want to do a digital wired thermostat or anything else like that, we do have a lot of those listed under the accessories.
Please feel free to call or submit other Q&As if you have any questions. We're definitely here for you. Have a wonderful day.
