- Install the Nest Detect on a door, window or wall, depending on what you want it to sense. Installed on your door or window, the Nest Detect will sense opening or closing. Installed on a door or wall, the Nest Detect senses if someone walks nearby.
- Dog Pass
- For families with a dog under 40 pounds, the Nest Detect can be set to avoid false alarms when your pet moves around the house. Turn on Reduced Motion Sensitivity and mount the Nest Detect 6'4" above the floor to prevent false alarms.
- Quiet Open
- The Nest Detect allows you to leave early while the house is armed and keep the alarm silent, so you won't wake your family.
- Pathlight
- Pathlight turns on to light your way in the dark. When you walk past the Nest Detect, it senses your presence and lights up.

The compact Nest Detect can be placed on a door, the wall or a window to detect motion and movement in the room. Placed on a window, the Nest Detect will alert you if the window is opened. Placed on the wall, the Nest Detect will sense motion in the room. Placed on a door, the Nest Detect will sense both motion and opening and closing of the door. The Nest Detect also lights your way in the dark with it's Pathlight.
