Features
- Advanced Filtration System
- The MSZ-GL09NA-U1 combines a hybrid catechin deodorizing filter with an enzyme-based filter for managing allergens. The anti-allergy filter not only captures the offending particles, it also breaks them down, cleaning the air as it is conditioned.
- Hot-Start
- Mitsubishi's hot start technology prevents cold drafts by delaying fan operation until the heat exchanger has warmed up.
- Econo Cool Mode
- By slowly adjusting the cooling set point and swinging the horizontal vanes, the MSZ-GL09NA-U1 can improve the efficiency of cooling operations without compromising the comfort provided.
- Dehumidification
- When the indoor unit is run in dry mode, the coil's temperature stays just below the dew point of the return air, removing unwanted moisture. This improves comfort and reduces the chance of mold growth and other property damage in the conditioned space.
- Multiple Vane Control Options
- Auto mode selects the best vane position based on operating mode, and the swing modes cycle through all positions for maximum coverage. When wide mode is activated, fan speed increases beyond the current setting.
- Kumo Cloud Compatible
- Control every zone in your home from the palm of your hand. The Kumo Cloud App allows easy access and control with any smartphone or internet browser.
- Precision Temperature Control Technology
- The outdoor condenser is equipped with inverter technology and an electronic linear expansion valve. These components improve temperature accuracy and system efficiency through precise adjustments of both compressor speed and refrigerant flow.
- Blue Fin Condenser
- Condensers are constantly exposed to wind, dust and salty air that take their toll on your unit. Mitsubishi coats their condensers with an anti-rust coating to extend its lifespan.
- Smart Set
- Mitsubishi's Smart Set function allows you to save a cooling profile consisting of a temperature, a fan speed, and an airflow direction. This profile can be activated easily with a single press of the Smart Set button on the remote controller.
- (1) Mitsubishi - 9k BTU - GL-Series Outdoor Condenser - Single Zone Only (MUZ-GL09NA-U1)
- (1) Mitsubishi GL-Series 9k BTU Wall Mounted Unit - For Multi or Single-Zone (MSZ-GL09NA-U1)
- Line Set - This double insulated tubing transfers refrigerant efficiently between your outdoor condenser and indoor unit.
- Drain Tubing - Drain tubing facilitates the reliable and effective removal of condensate from your system. It connects your indoor unit to drain locations of your choosing.
- Disconnect Box & Electrical Whip Kit - The Disconnect Box & Whip Kit provides a safe and simple way to connect your outdoor condenser to your fuse box.
- Connecting Wire - This durable, insulated wire provides power to your indoor unit from your outdoor condenser.
- Base Pan Heater - The base pan heater prevents ice from building up on the outdoor unit. Excessive ice build will lead to performance issues and could damage your unit.
- Outdoor Condenser Plastic Pad or Wall Bracket - We recommend outdoor condensers should not be placed directly on the ground. An outdoor condenser pad or wall bracket will provide a stable way to mount your condenser free from obstructions and debris.
For over 50 years, Mitsubishi has remained at the forefront of the mini split industry thanks to their dedication to providing efficient, user-friendly comfort solutions. Mitsubishi is committed to achieving total customer satisfaction and year after year they do just that. The MZ-GL09NA is backed by a 5 year parts and 7 year compressor warranty to show you they stand by their product. With an included wireless remote controller, this system is the perfect combination of convenience and comfort for any heating or cooling application.

If I'm buying this unit to have an HVAC contractor install this, does this come with all the parts I need? Tubing, insulation, brackets, etc.?
Andrew L.
from Georgia
June 18, 2018
Answer
To complete your package, and have all the items you'll need for installation, I recommend a 1/4" x 3/8" mini split installation starter kit in the length you require. This will include all the components for installation.

Does the unit automatically shut off once the set temperature is reached, or does it just run constantly?
Lindsay
from Texas
July 30, 2016
Answer
This system is designed to run constantly to maintain the set temperature. Once it reaches the set-point, both the outdoor unit's compressor and the indoor unit's fan slow to a reduced speed. The ability to slow down the compressor is one of the major benefits of inverter technology. It helps efficiency because compressor startup uses disproportionately more energy than operation.

Does the unit have the ability to dehumidify without cooling? I'm looking at a possible install in my basement, where it can get hot in the summer, but sometimes it's just too humid. I'd like if I don't have to keep a separate dehumidifier too.
Anthony
from Pennsylvania
July 20, 2016
Answer
Mitsubishi GL-Series units include a Dry Mode that is designed to remove moisture from the space the unit is installed in. This feature runs the unit at a low speed to remove moisture from the air. You may experience some cooling of the space while the unit is operating in Dry Mode.
Depending on how damp your space is, The system may not entirely eliminate the need for a dedicated dehumidifier, but it should help keep the space relatively dry in all but the most extreme conditions.

Is this unit, along with other M series units, pre charged with the refrigerant?
Bill M.
from Massachusetts
July 15, 2016
Answer
The outdoor unit comes pre-charged for use with line sets up to 25 ft. in length. Additional refrigerant will be needed if you are using a longer line set

If I put the remote control on my night stand, then, will the remote take a temperature reading at the night stand and run the indoor unit until the remote is satisfied?
Jon
from Washington
April 27, 2016
Answer
The M-Series indoor unit reads the temperature at the indoor unit, not at the remote. If you want to detect the temperature at a location other than the unit a remote sensor is available, but will need to be hardwired.
