An AWESOME UPGRADE

I feel the remote that comes with the unit leaves a lot to be desired. My wife and I constantly have to look in the booklet to figure out the cooling, drying or heating symbol. But the ABSOLUTE WORST THING in the remote that comes with the unit is it doest even tell you the room temperature. We installed a thermometer to figure that out. Fortunately when we found this thermostat we were elated. No more manual. Its all there like a regular thermostat and I installed it myself. Was pretty easy if your mechanically inclined.

More features for a split unit
By Justin H

This thermostat is a big improvement over the smaller remotes that typically come with a mini split. For my purposes, I wanted to run my mini split as just an indoor fan to circulate air, which the smaller standard remotes do not allow. This remote thermostat does allow for that control and it is great. The circulation really helps if you have radiant heat.
I haven't used it extensively for heat or cooling yet, but the operation seems simple. I did get one thermostat DOA that eComfort was able to replace and the second unit worked flawlessly.

Good Thermostat, Easy to Install.

Purchased this thermostat so I could control the mini-split unit on our upper floor remotely using Honeywell RedLink. It was relatively easy to connect the base unit to the mini-split control board with the provided cable and connector. The clearances on my mini-split floor unit were tight due to the corner location. The wall thermostat connected without any issues to the base unit. I also was able to associate the base unit with our RedLink interface with no issues.
After we reassembled the mini-split the system operated without issue for a few days. It then shut down and the thermostat flashed "PE". Neither the thermostat manual or the mini split manual listed a "PE" error code. I called Mitsubishi support and they could not identify what the "PE" code indicated. I went back to the mini-split manual and used the blinking light key to diagnose the error. 15 flashes indicating a lower air vane "position error" "PE" Turns out the lower air vane has some (1/8") play. At the extreme right of the play range it was running into the front panel which caused a vane position error.
The unit is rather expensive relative to other programmable thermostats.
Looks like a Honeywell product with a Mitsubishi label.

Remote Monitoring
By Roengsak C.

Last summer, I had a contractor to installed two Mitsubishi Split-System Heat Pump Model: MSZ-GE18NA-8 to maintain a constant temperature for two separate remote utilities buildings.
The contractor only provided the hand-held remote controls, but I needed a way to remotely adjust and monitor the temperature.
eComfort was able to provide me with the right solution that is compatible with my current units. Now, I'm able to monitor & adjust my units remotely with the Honeywell RedLink solution.

I have had this unit for several weeks. Excellent performance. A bit tricky accessing the circuit board in the AC. The location of the original temp. sensor located in the AC at ceiling height gave very poor control of the temp. The temp. at ceiling height gives very poor correlation to the desired room temperature, with the offset varying with the time of day eg: sunny, cloudy, daytime, nighttime. I also found that the Isensor in the AC was useless. With the new remote thermostat I am very satisfied with the system.
