I'm Very Happy With What I Am Sure Is An Excellent Product

I received this generator in May, it is finally installed. My master electrician had no problem installing the switch nor placing the generator BUT we had multiple problems from that point forward. I've been lead to believe we were not given proper information when we called Briggs Stratton on the phone (many times) for clarification of error messages. I then had to pay an additional $1k to have your local service person make a house call to make some changes. I am a bit concerned going forward that I may have noone to call if I have any hiccups in the future. I would appreciate you supplying me with the name of a local repair person to my product. I thank you for listening,

A follow up to my previous Aug 28 review of the 50 amp ATS I am no longer holding my fingers crossed. The Briggs installer replaced the Generator side contactor and found a piece of metal debris lodged in the Panel side contactor and once removed no more noise. Replacing the Generator side contactor repaired the loss of voltage. I have my faith restored in Briggs & Stratton.

    Something Is Amiss.

Brand new just installed and the contactor on the generator side vibrates and makes a loud buzzing noise. BRIGGS fix to the installer, loosen the screws holding the contactor down. What? Loosen the screws. Screws were loosened and the noise got louder. Now waiting for the loosened contactor to vibrate right off the panel. Installer is getting another 50 amp panel. Fingers crossed.

    Manufacturer Response
I'm sorry to hear you've experienced this issue with your transfer switch, but thank you for sharing your experience. This transfer switch carries a five year warranty that covers manufacturing defects and workmanship associated with that. You've already taken the first step with having an authorized service dealer inspect the transfer switch and make any warranty determinations. If you still have any issues/concerns after it has been replaced, please give our customer support center a call at 800-732-2989.
