Over the last 130 years, Weil-McLain has built a reputation of designing some of the most reliable boilers in the marketplace. Their dedication to producing long-lasting heating solutions is seen in every boiler they make. The ECO hot water boiler is an ideal blend of efficiency and value. A remarkable 95% AFUE sets the ECO 110 apart from other boilers. This efficiency is possible in such a small package thanks to condensing technology and a modulating burner. Condensing boilers trap gas that escapes traditional boilers and reuse the heat within. Modulation reduces unnecessary fuel use by scaling the burner output to match your heating demands. The ECO includes a control that is both easy to use and easy to read. Both the ECO and the control mount on the wall for convenience and to save space. Weil-McLain's ECO brings efficiency and flexibility to the forefront in a package that suits any space.

    Product Features

    Fire Tube Heat Exchanger
The ECO forgoes a typical heat exchanger for a fire tube heat exchanger. Fire tube heat exchangers are known for their steady temperatures. They allow for larger water content than traditional heat exchangers, which reduces short cycling and temperature fluctuations.

    Outdoor Reset Control
An outdoor reset sensor is included with every ECO boiler. This sensor allows your boiler temperature to be adjusted relative to the temperature outside, eliminating excess energy use and guaranteeing comfort.

    Easy Installation & Maintenance
The ECO's low profile and wall mounting mean that it can be installed almost anywhere. The internal components are situated for quick maintenance, and removable control terminal blocks simplify wiring.

Medium Medium refers to the substance that carries heat through the heating system. Systems are either designed to use either Hot Water or Steam as a medium, and components are usually specific to one or the other.

Fuel Type To create heat, some form of fuel is required. Fuel Type specifies what the product uses as an input to create heat.
Natural Gas
Combustion Type
Condensing
Vent Type Products that use combustion (burning) of fuel to create heat also create potentially dangerous gasses that need to be exhausted (AKA "Vented"). Depending on the product, venting can be done via a chimney, through a side wall, or use a second vent to provide fresh air to the appliance.
Direct Vent
DHW Production DHW (Domestic Hot Water) is potable water for uses other than space heat. Some boilers are able to provide DHW "out of the box", while others can do so with the purchase of optional accessories.

Modulating/Staging Stages are unique speeds or levels that equipment can operate at. More stages allow for better fine-tuned control of output, which improves comfort and efficiency. Modulating equipment can operate across a range of levels, giving the highest level of fine-tuned control. Learn More

Can I use this for domestic hot water as well as for home heating?
Tim

Read Response +
Answer
Weil-McLain ECO-Series boilers cannot be used to produce domestic hot water directly, but they do have controls which enable them to switch seamlessly between supplying water for hot water production and space heating purposes. To use the boiler in this way, you will need to add an indirect fired water heater, as well as a pump dedicated for supplying water to the indirect fired water heater. Indirect fired water heaters use hot water produced by a boiler to heat water for domestic use by utilizing a heat exchanger built into the storage tank.

The ECO boiler uses a domestic hot water priority control scheme to automatically divert water to indirect water heater on a call for domestic hot water production. Once the domestic hot water demand has been satisfied the boiler resumes normal space heating operation. The boiler will also automatically adjust the temperature of the water being supplied to the purpose.
