Features
Features
- Precision Temperature Control Technology
- The MXZ-8C48NA outdoor condenser is equipped with inverter technology and an electronic linear expansion valve. These components improve temperature accuracy and system efficiency through precise adjustments of both compressor speed and refrigerant flow.
- Hot-Start
- In heating mode, Mitsubishi's hot start technology prevents cold drafts by stalling fan operation while the heat exchanger is warming up.
- Dehumidification
- When the indoor unit is run in dry mode, it will remove extra moisture from the room. This improves your comfort and reduces both mold growth and the chance of property damage in the conditioned space.
- 3D i-see Sensor™
- The SLZ-KF cassette unit includes an advanced thermal sensor that scans the room for hot and cold spots as well as occupancy. Using this information, the cassette unit can be programmed to direct airflow to certain areas of the zone in specific scenarios.
- Condensate Removal System
- The included SLZ-KF indoor units contain an internal drain mechanism capable of lifting condensate 33". This simplifies installation and prevents condensate overflow, which can damage or destroy your property.
- Advanced Remote Controller
- The MHK1 wireless controllers have dual set point control, allowing you to set how fast your zones are cooled or heated. They offer scheduling options, providing you with exceptional flexibility. With these features, your home will always be comfortable.
- Inconspicuous Design
- If you are looking for unobtrusive zoned comfort, this system is right for you. The only visible portion of the indoor units are the grilles, which clock in at a slender depth of 13/16".
- Recommended line set sizes for indoor unit connectivity:
- SLZ-KF09NA.TH-NG: 1/4" x 3/8" Line Set (Qty 5)
- A branch box with a 3/8" x 5/8" line set connection is also required. Additional branch boxes and line sets may be required based on your configuration.
- (1) Mitsubishi - 48k BTU - M-Series Outdoor Condenser - For 2-8 Zones (MXZ-8C48NA2)
- (5) Mitsubishi - 9k BTU - M-Series Ceiling Cassette - For Multi or Single-Zone - Grille Sold Separately (SLZ-KF09NA.TH-NG)
- (5) Mitsubishi SLP-18FAU Ceiling Cassette Grille For Mitsubishi SLZ-KF-NA Mini Split Units - With 3D i-see Sensor (SLP-18FAEU)
- (5) Mitsubishi RedLINK - Wireless Remote Controller Kit - Programmable - Wall Mounted (MHK2)
- Line Set - This double insulated tubing transfers refrigerant efficiently between your outdoor condenser and indoor units.
- Branch Box - A Mitsubishi branch box is required to connect this condenser to Mitsubishi mini split indoor units.
- Drain Tubing - Drain tubing facilitates the reliable and effective removal of condensate from your system. It connects your indoor units to drain locations of your choosing. We recommend locally purchased PVC hard pipe for the condensate drain on cassette and concealed duct units.
- Disconnect Box & Electrical Whip Kit - The Disconnect Box & Whip Kit provides a safe and simple way to connect your outdoor condenser to your fuse box.
- Connecting Wire - This durable, insulated wire provides power to your indoor units from your outdoor condenser.
- Base Pan Heater - The base pan heater prevents ice from building up on the outdoor unit. Excessive ice build will lead to performance issues and could damage your unit.
- Outdoor Condenser Plastic Pad or Wall Bracket - We recommend outdoor condensers should not be placed directly on the ground. An outdoor condenser pad or wall bracket will provide a stable way to mount your condenser free from obstructions and debris.
For over 50 years, Mitsubishi has remained at the forefront of the mini split industry thanks to their dedication to providing efficient, user-friendly comfort solutions. This is a five zone mini split system designed to give you individual control over the temperature in multiple rooms. An efficient MXZ-8C48NA outdoor condenser, built with advanced technology, is combined with low-profile SLZ-KF ceiling cassette indoor units and five wireless remote controllers for the perfect marriage of convenience and comfort. With multiple operating modes, multiple fan speeds, and multiple airflow directions, this is a system that fits the needs of nearly any home.

Can these systems can be controlled by the Nest learning thermostat?
Jeff

Answer
Mitsubishi mini splits can be controlled with a Nest or any other standard thermostat, but you will need one thermostat for each indoor unit you wish to control. You will also need a thermostat interface, PAC-US444CN-1, and a transformer, 90-T40M3, for each indoor unit.
