Fire dampers are required when installing a bathroom fan. They prevent fires by detecting when temperatures rise over a safe temperature and then disable the fan. The FQ-FD Fire/Radiation Damper is UL listed for T-bar, hanger rod wire ceiling installation and is in accordance to UL 555C for use in 3-hour fire rated floor/ceiling or roof/ceiling assemblies.
