Features

Crown's Cayman line of boilers is designed to be an all-encompassing heating solution for homes ranging in size from a small condo to a full multi-bedroom household. The heat exchanger at its core is constructed of cast-iron, a material proven effective in hundreds of heating applications around the world. The footprint of the Cayman is smaller than average making it perfect for compact utility rooms, and it comes with a low-clearance vent opening to maximize venting flexibility and installation options. The key feature of the Cayman line is the included tankless water heater coil, an internal accessory that allows the boiler to provide domestic hot water for showers and kitchen needs while heating the air in your home at the same time.
  • Cast Iron Heat Exchanger
  • The heat exchanger at the core of the Cayman is made of durable cast iron, a material proven many times over for its reliability in heating applications and efficiency in heat transfer.
  • Built-In Tankless Coil
  • The Crown Cayman boilers come with a built-in tankless water heater coil, allowing the boiler to handle all of your domestic hot water needs without an external hot water tank. This also means that your home has an endless supply of hot water.
  • Low Clearance Draft Diverter
  • Crown's Cayman line of boilers come with a very low height draft diverter, allowing it to be installed in low height areas or in areas with complicated venting configurations.
  • Included Automatic Vent Damper
  • An automatic vent damper is included with the Cayman boilers. It regulates the exhaust gas flow from your boilers venting system, allowing more heat to be kept inside the boiler for increased efficiency.

Medium Learn More
Medium
Medium refers to the substance that carries heat through the heating system. Systems are either designed to use either Hot Water or Steam as a medium, and components are usually specific to one or the other.

Cast Iron
Fuel Type Learn More
Fuel Type
To create heat, some form of fuel is required. Fuel Type specifies what the product uses as an input to create heat.
Natural Gas
Combustion Type Learn More
Combustion Type
Condensing appliances use leftover thermal energy from combustion gases to heat water in a secondary heat exchanger, resulting in higher efficiency and lower exhaust temperature.
Conventional
Vent Type Learn More
Vent Type
Products that use combustion (burning) of fuel to create heat also create potentially dangerous gasses that need to be exhausted (AKA "Vented"). Depending on the product, venting can be done via a chimney, through a side wall, or use a second vent to provide fresh air to the appliance.
Chimney Vent
DHW Production Learn More
DHW Production
DHW (Domestic Hot Water) is potable water for uses other than space heat. Some boilers are able to provide DHW "out of the box", while others can do so with the purchase of optional accessories.

Net I=B=R Capacity Learn More
Net I=B=R Capacity
I=B=R, also referred to as Net Output or AHRI Capacity, is the rated heat output of a boiler after accounting for combustion efficiency, piping loss, and an extra pickup factor. We recommend sizing steam boilers based on the I=B=R rating.

Ultra Low NOx Emissions Learn More
Ultra Low NOx Emissions
NOx is a byproduct of the combustion process, and it's output is regulated in some jurisdictions. Many regulators mirror SCAQMD rules, which regulate air quality for some parts of Southern California. Ultra Low NOx appliances emit less than 10-14 ng/J (nanogram per Joule) of NOx. Learn More
