The KIN12LNI-LL2 has an insulated jacket that covers the gas valves and burner to improve not just heat retention and efficiency but safety as well. High quality Honeywell controls are also concealed within the jacket. If you are looking for a well-rounded, dependable steam boiler, you don't need to look further than the Independence.

  • The KIN12LNI-LL2's draft hood is smaller than natural draft boilers, and is shifted to the rear of the unit to save space. The Independence's low profile provides flexibility and makes it an ideal replacement boiler for all sorts of installations.
  • Durable Construction
  • Cast-iron construction of the boiler sections and stainless steel burners contribute to the incredible longevity of Independence models. The heat exchanger is also made of cast iron, which allows it to accept lower return water temperatures.

What controls are included in this package?

Answer
The knockdown (KIN) and semi-packaged (SIN) configurations of the Independence steam boilers do not include any controls. A steam trim kit containing a low water cut-off, an operating high-pressure control, a sight glass, and necessary fittings must be purchased separately to complete the installation. There are three different version available differing only in the low water cut-off device that is included.

Answer
This Burnham Independence boiler does not come assembled.

"Knocked-Down" boilers come disassembled, which is often helpful for transporting them into a home's mechanical room. The K as the first character of the model number (KIN7...) represents Knocked-Down. Packaged Burnham IN-series boilers have a P as the first character (e.g. PIN7...).
