Features
Onix radiant tubing is specifically manufactured for rugged, long-term radiant heating and hydronic applications. The chemical composition of the tubing lends itself well to long-term high-temperature use while maintaining durability and consistency. High maximum temperature and pressure ratings are a trademark feature of Onix tubing, with an aramid reinforcement layer to provide resilience while allowing the tube to remain flexible. Onix tubing is a product that can be used with lifelong confidence with a wide variety of hydronic and radiant heating products.
Product Features
Easily Handles Extreme Temperatures
Onix tubing is capable of handling a wide variety of temperature ranges with ease. Blazingly hot summers to freezing winters have no effect on the flexibility or durability of the tube, allowing it to be installed at nearly any point on the globe with confidence.
Highly Resistant to UV Rays
Installing Onix tubing in direct sunlight or underground has no effect on the tube's longevity or function. Onix tubing's unique chemical composition makes it virtually immune to normally harmful UV rays.
AlumaShield Oxygen Barrier
Onix tubing has Watts Radiant's signature shielding, AlumaShield, built into it from the start. This shielding protects a hydronic system's fluid from unwanted oxygen permeation.
Crush and Expansion Resistant
The unprecedented durability of Onix tubing is made possible by its unique EDPM rubber. This highly durable rubber makes the tubing highly resistant to crushing, deformation, and kinking. It also prevents the tube from expanding or contracting as a result of system fluid temperature change.
Immune to Stress Cracking
Inside the Onix tubing is a mesh of 1000 denimer aramid cord, the same material that is used to manufacture bullet proof shields. This wire mesh makes the tubing impervious to stress cracks and gives it a high resistance to pressure bursting.
Easy to Install
Onix tubing requires no special tools for installation, making it the easiest radiant tube to install. This helps you to set up your radiant heating system more quickly and for less money than other options.
