For nearly three decades, tekmar has been providing zoning and control solutions for a variety of heating and cooling applications. Products made by tekmar can improve the efficiency and comfort delivered by almost any system. The tekmar 529 Thermostat controls two stages of heating for a zone in your hydronic tekmarNet 2 system. This tekmar Thermostat is a simple, and efficient, way to manage the heating of a single zone while improving the connectivity of your home.
Synchronize Your Zones, Save Energy
The 529 Thermostat is tekmarNet compatible. When connected to a tekmarNet system it can communicate with other tekmarNet thermostats in your system. Communication means that your thermostats can synchronize their cycles, when possible, instead of operating independently. In situations where your 529 is not connected to a tekmarNet system, or it is not part of a hydronic zone, then it may use auto cycling instead of synchronization. Auto cycling calculates and executes the ideal number of cycles per hour. Both of these functions minimize short cycling, save energy, and reduce wear and tear on your system.
Connect Your Thermostat, Improve Its Functionality
When your tekmar 529 is connected to other tekmarNet controls it can provide additional features that benefit your system. When connected to a control with a master schedule, the 529 can follow that schedule. When connected to a reset control with warm weather shut down, the 529 Thermostat can take the outdoor temperature into account when making decisions about heat. These features improve the efficiency of your system.
This thermostat has a built-in temperature sensor for evaluating and managing the air temperature of your room. The 529 Thermostat has an auxiliary input for an additional sensor. You can control air and floor temperatures if you connect a slab sensor to your thermostat.
A tekmarNet 2 House Control, Wiring Center, or Zone Manager is required for power and communication.
