Modine's HEX5-300 hazardous environment unit heater is designed for rugged industrial applications in unforgiving, dirty environments. From pulp and paper mills and agricultural plants to oil refineries and coal mines, the HEX5-300 has the durability needed to withstand the most punishing of conditions. This unit heater comes equipped with the necessary features to prevent fires and explosions from flammable gases, vapors, or powdered metals that may exist around the heater.
14 Gauge Steel Cabinet
The outer shell of the HEX5-300 uses epoxy coated 14 gauge steel. The coated steel is highly effective at protecting the sensitive internal components from a hazardous surrounding environment.
Temperature Change Resistant
The unit heater uses an ethylene glycol and water solution as a heat transfer medium, providing freeze protection down to a level of -49 degrees Fahrenheit. An included pressure relief valve protects against overpressure damage.
Teflon-Lined Heating Element Tank
A liquid filled tank on the lower part of the HEX5-300 protects the electric heating elements from outside hazards. This tank is lined with Teflon, simultaneously protecting the heating elements and keeping them away from the sides of the tank.
High Current Wiring
The wiring on the HEX5-300 consists of high current, industrial grade wiring attached to tin plated copper bus bars, giving the unit heater the ability to handle high current with ease.
NEMA Type 7 and 9 Wiring Housing
The rugged NEMA type control box houses a large aluminum data plate, control transformer, and convenient terminals for the wiring of accessories to the unit heater.
Heavy Gauge Embossed Fan Blades
The HEX5-300 uses heavy gauge embossed steel for its fan blades, providing superior corrosion resistance while being durable enough to last for years.
