Features

Dunkirk is one of the most established names in hydronic heating. Their reputation has been built over the years by ingenious design and perpetual innovation. The EW II is a remarkably well-rounded boiler. By blending reliability and efficiency, Dunkirk has created an oil-fired hot water boiler that is suitable for a variety of applications. Cast-iron, the material of the EW II's heat exchanger, is known for its longevity, a quality whose importance cannot be overstated when it comes to hydronic heating. To keep installation times down Dunkirk handles the installation and wiring for the EW II's Beckett AFG burner. To cap off an already impressive product, Dunkirk equips all EW II hot water boilers with high quality components—sHoneywell controls and a Taco circulator. Whether you're beginning new construction, replacing an old boiler, or considering the switch to oil, an EW II makes an excellent addition to any system.

    Product Features

    Efficiency-Boosting Insulation
Heat retention is a cornerstone of efficiency. Dunkirk employs an insulated boiler jacket with the EW II to reduce wasted heat and make your energy dollar go further.

    Thermal Purge
The EW II will begin any demand for heat by measuring shifts in temperature within the boiler. Then, prior to firing, it will circulate any water with residual heat through your system. Reusing residual heat and limiting burner firing improves the energy efficiency of your system.

    Tankless Water Heating Coil
The 5EW1.20 has an opening for adding a tankless water heating coil. This allows you to combine domestic hot water production and space heating in a single, efficient package.

    Cast to Last
Dunkirk has the utmost faith in the quality of their cast-iron heat exchangers. To demonstrate this faith, Dunkirk has developed a 20 year, non-prorated "Cast to Last" warranty. Your peace of mind is guaranteed with an EW II.

Medium Learn More
Medium
Medium refers to the substance that carries heat through the heating system. Systems are either designed to use either Hot Water or Steam as a medium, and components are usually specific to one or the other.
Hot Water
Heat Exchanger Material
Cast Iron
Fuel Type Learn More
Fuel Type
To create heat, some form of fuel is required. Fuel Type specifies what the product uses as an input to create heat.
Oil
Combustion Type Learn More
Combustion Type
Condensing appliances use leftover thermal energy from combustion gases to heat water in a secondary heat exchanger, resulting in higher efficiency and lower exhaust temperature.
Conventional
Vent Type Learn More
Vent Type
Products that use combustion (burning) of fuel to create heat also create potentially dangerous gasses that need to be exhausted (AKA "Vented"). Depending on the product, venting can be done via a chimney, through a side wall, or use a second vent to provide fresh air to the appliance.
Chimney Vent
DHW Production Learn More
DHW Production
DHW (Domestic Hot Water) is potable water for uses other than space heat. Some boilers are able to provide DHW "out of the box", while others can do so with the purchase of optional accessories.

Modulating/Staging Learn More
Modulating/Staging
Stages are unique speeds or levels that equipment can operate at. More stages allow for better fine-tuned control of output, which improves comfort and efficiency. Modulating equipment can operate across a range of levels, giving the highest level of fine-tuned control. Learn More
